the Log Cabin finish

I cannot believe that I forgot to post pictures of my completed Log Cabin!  It has been sitting around waiting for the binding to be hand stitched down for so long, that once I had, I just got use to seeing it sitting around!  Oh and then I had to stitch a sleeve on it...because my new group are having an exhibition in two weeks, so this baby is going on show very soon!
Here it is close up, so you can see the wonderful quilting Vicki Jenkins did.  I do love a baptist fan!
The colours are a bit darker here then in real life as I took this inside at night.  Life has been busy working towards finishing projects for the exhibition and school holidays.  The kids are back at school this week and we are slowly getting into routine.  I am off to Quilt Convention for a weekend of quilty fun with my Mum and meeting friends there.  I have never been before so I am really looking forward to see everything and perhaps doing some shopping, like I need more fabric!
Happy quilting Sue.

  1. It is beautifully scrappy. The baptist fan quilting is a great match with all those log cabins. Good luck in your exhibition. I can't wait to hear about your weekend away. How exciting getting to immerse yourself in all things quilty. Safe travels.

  2. Log Cabins are so classic and classy. I love all the fabrics and colors you've included. I've been cutting strips for about a year to make one too. Glad you'll be able to show it off soon.
